Founder, Chairman, CEO

Gregg Roberts serves as the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Environmental Risk Strategies Institute (ERSI,) in association with Texas State University. The Institute provides specialized services in the areas of environmental law, medicine, insurance, risk management and technology.

ERSI also provides nationally recognized and accredited professional curricula to the environmental industry. In addition, ERSI developed the first comprehensive online
interactive resource, environmentalriskmanager.com, which provides information, knowledge, consulting and solutions for environmental decision makers.

Mr. Roberts is the Founder, Chairman and Course Director of the Environmental Risk Management (ERM) program, a Professional Designation. This professional curriculum has provided training and certification to numerous underwriters top environmental insurance companies, including AIG, Chubb, Quanta, XL, Zurich, and others. Many insurance brokers from Aon, Marsh, USI, Willis and others have attended, along with risk managers from Fortune 1000 companies. This designation has become an industry standard for environmental risk professionals.

He is a national and international speaker in the area of Environmental Risk Management and has served on various governmental task forces with respect to environmental risk management and insurance, including a White House Conference Panel on Sustainable Environmental Technologies under Al Gore. He is also the former Chairman of the Advisory Board of the National Brownfield Association and has recently been recognized by the U.S. Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works for his contributions.

He has an ongoing relationship with the Texas Department of Health on HB329 and the respective state licensing exam for mold.

Prior to ERSI, Mr. Roberts served for seven years as the creator and Director of Aon Environmental Risk Services. Environmental Risk Services was the worldwide environmental resource group to all of the Aon companies. Prior to his tenure at Aon, he was Sr. Vice President and Director of the Environmental Resource Group, Construction Services Division for another global insurance brokerage and consulting firm.

During his time in the brokerage business, he has designed, marketed and managed over $1.2 billion in premiums and developed various environmental risk mitigation strategies. Before his tenure in the brokerage and consulting arena for global companies, he spent twelve years as the Director of Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety for a mid-sized engineering and construction company with domestic and foreign operations.

Mr. Roberts graduated from Texas State University with a BBA in management. He continued his environmental education through various EPA and OSHA licensing programs, as well as receiving certifications through programs at Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Texas State University.

Mr. Roberts has just recently received the prestigious Texas State Distinguished Alumnus Award for his contributions in Environmental Risk Management, Environmental Insurance and for the professional education and development of the respective industry professionals. In the 105-year history of the University, this award has only been granted to 123 alumni.
